This notice explains what happens to your data when you visit georgtanner.com, book a session, or write to me. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors in the EU and EEA, the GDPR. Responsible party: Georg Tanner Consulting, Switzerland, georg@georgtanner.com.
Visit statistics (Google Analytics 4). I use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the page are read. IP addresses are anonymised. Google LLC (USA) processes this data on my behalf; Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you are visiting from Europe, Analytics only runs after you accept it in the banner at the bottom of the page, and your choice is stored in your browser. You can change your mind by clearing the site's data in your browser. Legal basis: consent (Europe) or legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (elsewhere). Retention in Analytics: 14 months.
How the page is read (Microsoft Clarity). I use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move through the page: how far they scroll, where they pause, what they tap. Clarity records these interactions as anonymised session replays and heatmaps; it masks text you type and does not collect your name or contact details. Microsoft Corporation (USA) processes this data on my behalf; Microsoft is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you are visiting from Europe, Clarity only runs after you accept it in the banner at the bottom of the page, together with Analytics, and your choice is stored in your browser. Legal basis: consent (Europe) or legitimate interest in improving the site (elsewhere). Microsoft's own terms are at clarity.microsoft.com.
Hosting (Netlify). The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA), which records standard server logs (IP address, browser, time, page requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Logs are kept for a short period by Netlify.
Fonts (Google Fonts). The page loads a typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font file from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address in the process. No cookies are set by this request.
Booking and payment (Stripe). If you book a session, payment is handled by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. and Stripe, Inc. on their own pages. Stripe collects your name, email, payment details and, where asked, a phone number and a short note. I receive your name, email, what you booked and the note, never your card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract. Stripe's own privacy notice applies to the payment page.
Email. If you write to me, I keep your message and my reply for as long as our conversation and any resulting work require, then for the retention periods Swiss law asks of a business (ten years for accounting records).
Client work. What we discuss in sessions, the boards and the written summaries are confidential. They are stored in tools I use to run the practice (Google Workspace, Miro, WhatsApp, Stripe) and are never shared, published or used as testimonials without your written permission. Client names on this site appear with the client's permission.
No advertising, no tracking pixels, no selling or sharing of data, no newsletter sign‑up, no profiling.
You can ask what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its processing, or ask for a copy. Write to georg@georgtanner.com. Visitors in the EU/EEA can also complain to their local data protection authority; in Switzerland, to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
